Data Deletion

Gardenix · Last updated 23 September 2026

Where your data lives

Your plant data and photos live on your device. Without an account, Gardenix keeps no copy of your garden on any server, so there is nothing on our side to delete. If you signed in, your email address and your garden backup are stored on our servers until you delete them; see below.

Android: uninstalling removes the app’s data from the device, but if Android backup is switched on, a copy remains in your own Google Drive and is restored if you reinstall. Removing that is a separate step — see below.

iPhone and iPad: uninstalling deletes all of it, and reinstalling starts from scratch. (If you back up your device to iCloud or a computer, the app’s data is part of that backup like any other app’s; it is yours and we have no access to it.)

Deleting the Android backup

To remove the Google Drive copy: open the Google Drive app → Menu → Backups, select the Gardenix backup and delete it. To stop future backups, turn off Settings → Google → Backup (this affects all apps) or clear the app’s data before uninstalling. The backup lives in your Google account, so we can neither read it nor delete it for you.

Deleting your account and cloud backup

In the app, open Settings → Account → Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, your email address and the entire cloud backup (including photos) from our servers. The garden on your device is kept. You can also request deletion by email; see below.

What the server stores

Our server keeps anonymous usage counters (for example, how many analyses were used) tied to a random device identifier. They contain no personal information, no photos and no texts, and they expire automatically. Unless you switched usage measurement off in Settings, it also keeps the app-usage events described in the Privacy Policy, stored under a one-way salted hash and deleted after a year. If you used the referral program, it also keeps your invite code, how many friends joined with it, and whether your device has already redeemed a code; these do not expire on their own while the program runs. For free scans it also keeps a one-way fingerprint of each photo for two days, used only to detect abuse.

Requesting deletion

For an account, the fastest route is in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account, which takes effect immediately. If you would rather ask us, or you want the anonymous server-side counters or referral records removed, email support@altf4.sk from the device you use the app on and tell us what you want deleted. We confirm once it is done, and respond within 30 days in any case.

Deleting the account permanently removes your email address and the whole cloud backup, including photos, from our servers; it cannot be undone. The garden stored on your device is not touched, so nothing is lost locally unless you uninstall the app or clear its data yourself. Signing out instead of deleting leaves the backup in place for the next time you sign in.
