Privacy Policy

This policy covers the gardenix.app website only. There are no accounts here and nothing to sign up for. Unless you write to us through the contact form, we hold nothing that identifies you.

The Gardenix mobile app is a separate matter with its own policy. Scans, plant collections, reminders and subscriptions are covered there, not here: see the app privacy policy.

ALTF4 s.r.o. operates gardenix.app and decides how the data described below is handled. For any privacy question or request, write to privacy@gardenix.app or support@altf4.sk.

If you send a message from the contact page, we receive the name you gave, your email address, the topic you picked and the text you wrote.

We use it for one thing: to read your message and reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch, and yours in getting an answer.

The message is delivered by our email delivery service, acting on our instructions, and arrives in our mailbox at support@altf4.sk. It stays there as long as it is useful for handling your enquiry and any follow-up, after which it is deleted.

The form carries two quiet anti-spam checks: a field hidden from people, and how long the page was open before you pressed send. Neither identifies you and neither is stored.

Two separate things measure traffic here, and they behave differently.

Google Analytics 4 runs only if you press Accept in the cookie banner. Until you do, it is not loaded at all, and nothing is sent to Google. Once accepted, it sets cookies and records which pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are and what kind of device you use, so we can see which guides are worth writing more of. Google acts as our processor and may handle this data outside the EU under the transfer safeguards it publishes.

Our cookieless analytics counts page views without cookies and without any cross-site identifier. It cannot follow you between websites and cannot single you out, so it runs without asking, in the aggregate only.

The consent cookie itself. Your answer to the banner is stored in a cookie named gardenix-consent. It records only that answer, nothing else. Accepting is remembered for 365 days, declining for 180 days, after which the banner asks again.

To change your mind, clear the cookies for gardenix.app in your browser and the banner will reappear on your next visit.

The site is hosted by our cloud hosting provider and delivered through its global network. As with any web server, requests are logged briefly for security and reliability, which includes IP addresses. We do not use those logs to build any profile of you.

We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising networks or embed ad trackers. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not combine what the website sees with anything from the app.

Pages here link out to the App Store, Google Play and occasionally other sites. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else's property, under their privacy policy, not ours.

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect what happened before.

Write to privacy@gardenix.app and we will answer within one month. If you believe we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Slovak supervisory authority, Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky (dataprotection.gov.sk), or to the authority where you live.

This site is aimed at adults who keep plants. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Substantial changes will be noted on the site rather than made quietly.
